Questions and answers
What is Stroke Index One?
Stroke Index One is a golf stats app for your phone. You record your round as you play, and it shows you where you gain and lose strokes, from the tee to the green, and what to practise next.
When can I start using it?
Stroke Index One opens to everyone in spring 2027, in time for the new golf season. Join the waitlist on the home page and we'll email you when it opens.
How much does it cost?
£3.99 a month or £29.99 a year, with a 14-day free trial. You don't need a card to start the trial.
What happens when my trial or subscription ends?
You keep access to your rounds and stats, and you can download them or delete your account at any time. Recording new rounds needs an active subscription.
Do I need to download anything?
No app store needed: Stroke Index One runs in your phone's browser, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like any other app, on iPhone and Android.
Does it work without phone signal?
Yes. Holes you record without signal are kept on your phone and sent automatically when you are back in range, so a dead spot on the back nine costs you nothing.
How do I record a round?
Choose how much detail you want: quick hole-by-hole stats (score, putts, fairways, greens), shot by shot (lie, club, strike, start line and curve), or GPS, where you mark where each shot finished on a map of the hole.
Which courses have GPS maps?
GPS hole maps are ready for a growing number of courses, starting in North Wales and North West England, and more are being added all the time.
Does it work with Stableford and handicaps?
Yes. Play Medal, Stableford or Bogey: enter your handicap index and it works out your playing handicap and gives you strokes on the right holes by stroke index.
What happens to my data?
Your rounds belong to you. They are stored securely in the UK, never sold, and you can download them or delete your account whenever you like. The full privacy policy will be published here before Stroke Index One opens.
